Hey friends I thought I would share my styled mantle (or lack of mantle) and just fire place. I’ve changed this look out so many times because decorating around a big old TV can be tricky sometimes. Here’s one thing I’ve found to be true: ITS ALL ABOUT SYMMETRY

The reason I say this is because when you have something has large as a TV and as visual centered as a fire place you want things to flow as naturally as possible. That’s not to say that you absolutely have to…I’ve decorated this spot before without using symmetry but it’s tricky and tends to look over cluttered and doesn’t flow.

On one side I have two candle sticks and some pretty faux green from Home Goods. Both sides have these beautiful antique shutters that were given to me as a gift.

Here’s a view of the other side it’s pretty much identical to the other but there’s only one candle stick but everything else is matching to the other side.

The middle is simple with some darker pops of wood color since the outside was a mix of whites and grays. I love bread boards and have them throughout my home.

The shutters are my favorite and really kind of blend the TV into the wall. I had the shutters off last week to see if I liked it and they went right back up! I tbink the key to Decorating around a fireplace is keep it simple and clean and symmetrical.

Well that’s all from me and have a great weekend!!! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Also you can share any of my photos to pinterst or Facebook with the share buttons
